Curly Hair, What's in There?: Brooklyn 99 Season 6 Episode 9

Curly Hair, What's in There?  is a segment that will explore the random topics that are always circling my mind, things I want to talk about or things I want to share. Brooklyn 99 Season 6 Episode 9: The Golden Child Ok so Brooklyn 99 is possibly the best show ever. It is consistently funny, topical, heartwarming, and just very unproblematic in general. This week, an extra added bonus perfect character was introduced through the part of Lin-Manuel Miranda. It was a great episode, so let's review. via GIPHY If I haven't mentioned it before I love Lin-Manuel Miranda. He is a treasure, everything he does is a gem and he is an actual ray of sunshine in human form. In this episode, he plays Amy's older brother David. If you haven't watched the show, Amy Santiago (Melissa Fumero) has seven older brothers, who she has always competed with, and David is, you guessed it, the Golden Child; the most accomplished and the one that their mother is always proudest of. ...

Happy International Women's Day!

So today, March 8, is International Women's Day, which is a fantastic and amazing day dedicated to powerful, strong, and brilliant women (yep, that's every single one of us). The celebration was first held in 1909, by the Socialist Party of America, and it took its date of March 8 in 1917, when women were granted suffrage in Soviet Russia. In 1975 it was taken on by the United Nations and now it is an internationally celebrated day. In some countries, women take this day to protest, in others, it celebrates women and everything they do.  The theme of this year's IWD is 'think equal, build smart, innovate for change', promoting gender equality and female empowerment. I love the idea of women supporting women, building each other up and being able to empower others and foster change. Since it is an important day for women, I have decided that this IWD I want to share my top five most inspiring women, real, fictional, famous or not there are many out there. 5. R...

Curly Hair, Been There: Disneyland Paris

Curly Hair, Been There is a segment that explore the different places in the world I have been, and my experiences there.  Disneyland Paris So, anyone that knows me, knows that I'm a huge Disney fan. Like, massive. I own all 55 of the movies  on DVD or Blu-ray, as well as all 20 Pixar films. I. Love. Disney. So, it should come as no surprise that I've been to Disneyland a lot of times. I went for my 21st birthday, and as a part of this amazing gift I also received an annual pass to the Paris parks and two nights in the Disneyland Hotel (you know, the one that overlooks the park). So, since then, I have been back to the park three times, the most recent of which I shared on my blog's story. So, this blog is an overview of that day, and includes some tips for getting the most out of your Disneyland Paris experience. First off, I should have gone earlier. With an annual pass you can experience Magic Hours anytime, even if you aren't staying in...

Page to Screen: Outlander: Dragonfly in Amber

Page to Screen The Page to Screen series explores the cinematic adaptations of books and my criticisms of them, comparing the two works and reviewing them separately and as a whole. Outlander: Dragonfly in Amber (Book/Season 2) 1992, Written by Diana Gabaldon 2016, Developed by by Ronald D. Moore The book The Outlander Series is possibly one of my favourite of all time. There are 8 books, I've only read two and a half at time of writing this and I love them. I got into them because of how much I love the TV series, and let me say now, the comparison is great. The series does not disappoint when comparing with the books. Dragonfly In Amber, the second book, is possibly my favourite as it explores things that I find very interesting and this is the book I finished reading fastest. This post of course contains  spoilers  for both Dragonfly in Amber and Outlander season 2 Dragonfly in Amber takes us with Jamie and Claire Fraser to France, to the court of King Loui...

Curly Hair, What's in There?: LaLaLab

Curly Hair, What's in There?  is a segment that will explore the random topics that are always circling my mind, things I want to talk about or things I want to share. LaLaLab So, about a week ago a got an ad on my instagram feed. You know how sometimes you get ads but ignore them, sometimes you get ads that you click on and go through some of the pages of what they're selling, but decide it's too expensive, or you even get to the checkout, only to find the deal isn't what you thought it was? Well, LaLaLab is an ad that I do not regret clicking on. LaLaLab Logo I was intrigued by the idea of cheap photo prints; I think the ad was showing me the photostrips which are something I love, and having small, polaroid-style pictures around my room seemed like a nice way to decorate it; make me feel at home. So, I clicked on the link, uploaded some of my favourite pictures (to be honest I picked a lot from my boyfriend's visit because he'd literally just left P...
