Curly Hair, What's in There?: Ok Boomer

We've all noticed the recent trend in this phrase, and the outrage it's caused on the internet. Personally, I think it's a step forward in youth culture, and here's why. If you want to know the reasons; if you're a boomer, or if you're exasperated with a boomer, read this. Curly Hair, What's in There? : Ok Boomer I'm a part of that in between generation: born in 1998, I'm just too young to be a millennial, and a little old for Gen Z. We're not really sure where we belong but we share the same experiences as both generations. I like this tweet to sum it up: if you were born before 1996 you are a millennial if you were born after 2005 you are gen z if you were born in between then you are an honorary member of the black eyed peas — elise morgan (@crocfanpage) July 3, 2019 We're kind of stuck in the middle of the two groups, but we also have the same current mindset: boomers suck. In the past we've tried to explain things to ...

Curly Hair, What's in There? : Falsettos

You all know how much I love musicals. Like, a lot. One of my favourite musicals of all time is Falsettos, and I was lucky enough to get to see the London production this week. This is my review (prepare for a lot of excitement). Curly Hair, What's in There? : Falsettos For those that don't know: Falsettos is a composite of stories written in 1979-1990 by William Finn and James Lapine. It starts in 1979 and follows Marvin, a gay man who leaves his wife Trina and their son Jason, for his lover Whizzer. It explores these complex relationships, partly through Marvin's psychiatrist, Mendel, who goes on to fall in love with Trina. Act two skips to 1981, and deals with the organisation of Jason's bar mitzvah, as well as the AIDS crisis, and introduces the 'lesbians from next door'. It's an incredible show as it's hilarious but also heartbreaking and sweet as anything. Now that the plot is done, let me go into detail of what I loved (all of it). ...

Curly Hair, Been There: New York City (Part Seven)

Curly Hair, Been There is a segment that explore the different places in the world I have been, and my experiences there. I recently went on holiday to New York and over the last few weeks I've shared all the cool things I did while I was there. Since I was there for a week, this is a seven part series, a post for each day, plus I'll add the last day to this since it was kinda dull. Sunday was amazing and here's why: Curly Hair, Been There: New York City (Part Seven) Sunday was possibly my second favourite day (after broadway of course) since this was the day we went to the Central Park Zoo. I love a zoo and this one was particularly fun. Pretty much the whole day was the zoo. Rather than describe it all, I’m just gonna show you all these cool pics : a terrible picture of a snow monkey i like penguins  And some more animals which I can't entirely remember what they all are: RED PANDA IS CUTE Here's some shockingly bad pics ...

Curly Hair, Been There: New York City (Part Six)

Curly Hair, Been There is a segment that explore the different places in the world I have been, and my experiences there. I recently went on holiday to New York and over the next few weeks I'm going to share all the cool things I did while I was there. Since I was there for a week, this is going to be a seven part series, a post for each day. Saturday was great fun. Curly Hair, Been There: New York City (Part Six) Saturday was another fairly chill day. we went to the New York Public Library first thing, to see the original Winnie the Pooh toys, which were so cute and amazing to see. If you didn’t know, I adore Winnie the Pooh. It was a big, pretty building, in which the A.A. Milne box was the highlight. This was in the children’s library though, and I don’t think children are going to appreciate these as much as adults are. Although, they are trying to keep the stories alive over the generations so maybe they do care. Anyway, that was super cool and I would 10/10 recom...

Curly Hair, Been There: New York City (Part Five)

Curly Hair, Been There is a segment that explore the different places in the world I have been, and my experiences there. I recently went on holiday to New York and over the next few weeks I'm going to share all the cool things I did while I was there. Since I was there for a week, this is going to be a seven part series, a post for each day. Friday was amazing, so let's dig in. Curly Hair, Been There: New York City (Part Five) Friday was a super fun day. It was boiling hot, and we went to the Met. No, not the baseball team, Met singular: the Metropolitan Museum of Art. There was so much to see in this museum, and I really enjoyed it since I was so desperate to see the exhibit on Camp, which was, of course, the theme of this year’s Met Gala. The exhibit was amazing, all of the clothes and art they had were so beautiful, and there were some lovely quotes summing up different peoples views of the theme. Here are some examples of the pieces :    ...
