Curly Hair, What's in There?: Crazy Ex-Girlfriend

One of my favourite series, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, is ending next week. So sad, I know. And the last episode was very dramatic. So, I'm going to explore the events and how I think the series is going to end. If you haven't seen it, the show is the story of Rebecca Bunch (Rachel Bloom), a successful New York lawyer who decides to uproot her life to move to West Covina, California to follow a boy she dated at camp, Josh Chan (Vincent Rodriguez III). She gets a job at a law firm, makes friends and stalks Josh until she finds out he is actually engaged to Valencia (Gabrielle Ruiz), a girl he went to school with. Rebecca ends up going out with Josh's friend Greg (Santino Fontana/Skylar Astin- will explain later), who ends things with her to move and go to business school. Then, the law firm gets bought out and Rebecca gets a new boss, Nathaniel (Scott Michael Foster), who isn't the nicest guy. They have a thing but later split up as well. Eventually Rebecca decides that s

Curly Hair, What to Wear: OrganicCup

As this segment is all about health and beauty, it makes sense to post something like this.  If you're a woman, or you know a woman, you obviously know all about the joys of periods. How annoying they are, how messy, how expensive- from buying tampons to chocolate and pain relief. It's unjust how much we have to pay for sanitary items, when we can't help but have a period every month. But anyway, that's a whole other conversation. So, the invention of the menstrual cup has been revolutionary. For International Women's Day, the company OrganiCup had a two for one sale, so, I decided I would give them a try. The first thing I liked was the packaging. It was discreet, just a plain box. Discretion shouldn't be an issue any more, we all know about periods and it shouldn't be something we want to hide, but still, it's nicer to be given a plain box from a post man than a pink box that's obviously full of feminine products. The way it was package

Stage to Screen: Riverdale's Musical Episode

I wasted an hour of my life in pain so that you don't have to. That's right, I watched Riverdale's musical episode, and I have to say I had low expectations, and the show really delivered. The episode is about the school's production of Heathers the musical, and being a show I love, I thought I'd give it a watch just to see. I regret that decision so much. Full disclaimer: this is the first episode of Riverdale I have ever seen, so I was hella lost all the way through. It will also be the last episode I watch. Cos ouch. I'm gonna start with the... actually I don't know where to start. I hated the whole thing. Lets go with the singing. The actors were clearly miming, and some of their singing was so so bad. If they knew they'd be miming and we could tell, they could have at least dubbed their horrible voices. The songs killed me most. I love the songs in Heathers, I'm very aware that they are pretty cheesy but I know all the words and the con

Curly Hair, Been There: Barcelona: Where to eat

Curly Hair, Been There is a segment that explore the different places in the world I have been, and my experiences there.  Barcelona: Where to eat  This churro cart was like two minutes from my house why did I only go once  As part of my university course, I am required to do a year abroad, and studying French and Spanish, I had to split it between two countries. For my Spanish half of the year, I went to Barcelona.  Barcelona is a beautiful city, and there's so much to say about it, so over a series of posts I'll go over some of the different aspects of life there. In this post, I want to share some of the best places I have eaten there, and recommend, in ascending order, my top five places to eat. 5. Brunch and Cake Gràcia is an area of Barcelona with a lot of good food, but also a lot of pricey food. Brunch and Cake is a café here that keeps it affordable as well as tasty. They have unbelievably good cake, some healthy, some not, and their drinks, j

Curly Hair, What's in There? Queer Eye

Curly Hair, What's in There?  is a segment that will explore the random topics that are always circling my mind, things I want to talk about or things I want to share. Queer Eye Right, so if you are in any way aware of current popular culture, you'll have heard of Queer Eye, the Netflix reboot of the classic show where five gay men (the so-called "Fab Five") makeover people. Season three landed on Netflix yesterday (March 15) and I am living, I've already watched it all. If you've not already seen this show, lemme tell you why you should. First off, it's not your typical makeover show. Like yeah, I get it, you're thinking "it's a bunch of fashion conscious gay guys so it is" but it's really not. I mean, they do have aspects of that, they makeover their wardrobe, their look, their living space, but they do so much more. In just a week, they seem to makeover peoples' lives. As well as the three aforementioned aspects, ther

Curly Hair, What's in There? The Haunting of Hill House

Curly Hair, What's in There?  is a segment that will explore the random topics that are always circling my mind, things I want to talk about or things I want to share. The Haunting of Hill House  I know, I'm a little bit behind the curve on this one. It's taken me a long time to get around to watching this Netflix original series, but boy was I glad when I did. I like horror and I like drama and this series has it all. It explores some really serious themes while at the same time being exciting and scary. The series is about the Crain family, their experience in the haunted Hill House, named after its first owners, and how it affects them for their whole lives. I have a lot of thoughts and opinions about this show, so be prepared. To keep it as simple as possible, I'm going to talk about my five favourite things about this show. This contains SPOILERS for The Haunting of Hill House 1. Olivia Crain Carla Gugino as Olivia Olivia is the mother of the C

Curly Hair, Been There: Barcelona: Where to go

Curly Hair, Been There is a segment that explore the different places in the world I have been, and my experiences there.  Barcelona: Where to go As part of my university course, I am required to do a year abroad, and studying French and Spanish, I had to split it between two countries. For my Spanish half of the year, I went to Barcelona. Even though I didn't have the best time of my life there, it had nothing to do with the city itself, which I loved. Barcelona is a beautiful city, and there's so much to say about it, so over a series of posts I'll go over some of the different aspects of life there. In this post, I want to share some of the best places I have been there, and recommend, in ascending order, my top five places to go. 5. Mount Tibidabo Tibidabo is an amazing place. If you're wondering why it rings a bell, refer back to Joey's "magic" story in Friends . It can be seen from certain angles all around the city, the nicest of which
