Curly Hair, Been There: New York City (Part One)

Curly Hair, Been There is a segment that explore the different places in the world I have been, and my experiences there. I recently went on holiday to New York and over the next few weeks I'm going to share all the cool things I did while I was there. Since I was there for a week, this is going to be a seven part series, a post for each day. So, let's get started!

Curly Hair, Been There: New York City (Part One)

I love this city. That's the first thing I'll say. As soon as I left that airport and got into the city, I was so happy. It was everything I ever dreamed it'd be. Overall, my week's trip to New York was amazing. 

We landed at JFK airport at about 4pm local time, after a long seven hour flight with American Airlines. The in flight entertainment and food was good, this was our meal: 


The excitement hit most when we were flying over the country and saw the ground from the window of the plane; we were nearly in New York!

Because we arrived fairly late, all we did on the first day was land, get to our airbnb, which was a lovely little flat in Brooklyn (a great borough by the way, would definitely recommend) and go and grab some snacks from on of the stores on our street.

Our first day there was a great experience of the city, and we sat in our room planning the week and what exactly we would do the following day.

Curly Hair, Been There: New York City (Part Six) Saturday was another fairly chill day. we went to the New York Public Library first thing, to see the original Winnie the Pooh toys, which were so cute and amazing to see. If you didn’t know, I adore Winnie the Pooh. It was a big, pretty building, in which the A.A. Milne box was the highlight. This was in the children’s library though, and I don’t think children are going to appreciate these as much as adults are. Curly Hair, What's in There?: LaLaLab

Curly Hair, What's in There?  is a segment that will explore the random topics that are always circling my mind, things I want to talk about or things I want to share. LaLaLab So, about a week ago a got an ad on my instagram feed. You know how sometimes you get ads but ignore them, sometimes you get ads that you click on and go through some of the pages of what they're selling, but decide it's too expensive, or you even get to the checkout, only to find the deal isn't what you thought it was? Well, LaLaLab is an ad that I do not regret clicking on. LaLaLab Logo I was intrigued by the idea of cheap photo prints; I think the ad was showing me the photostrips which are something I love, and having small, polaroid-style pictures around my room seemed like a nice way to decorate it; make me feel at home. Curly Hair, What's in There? The Haunting of Hill House

Curly Hair, What's in There?  is a segment that will explore the random topics that are always circling my mind, things I want to talk about or things I want to share. The Haunting of Hill House  I know, I'm a little bit behind the curve on this one. It's taken me a long time to get around to watching this Netflix original series, but boy was I glad when I did. I like horror and I like drama and this series has it all. It explores some really serious themes while at the same time being exciting and scary. The series is about the Crain family, their experience in the haunted Hill House, named after its first owners, and how it affects them for their whole lives. I have a lot of thoughts and opinions about this show, so be prepared. To keep it as simple as possible, I'm going to talk about my five favourite things about this show.
