Avengers: Endgame - The Dead

So now the spoiler ban on Avengers Endgame is well and truly lifted, and I actually have time to write, I'm gonna start dealing with some of the major parts of it. We're gonna start big and tackle the dead. So, as we know, there were many major characters killed, in both this movie and Infinity War, and some come back and some do not. We're here to break that down. Some of it I don't fully understand, because of the repercussions of the time travel in this movie, but I'm gonna do my best, and if you wanna question me or correct me or explain stuff to me, please do. Right, we're gonna start this bitch off with Vision. Many people were confused by the fact that Vision didn't come back at the end of the movie. It's a valid question, because the mind stone was taken by Steve from Loki's sceptre, and returned by him later so that there would be no extra timelines, as the Ancient One so beautifully explained (much better than me). But, Steve didn...

Curly Hair, What's in There: The Abortion Ban

Strap yourselves in guys, because I have a hell of a lot of opinions and they're very strong ones. If you read the news or any social media outlet ever, you'll know that a bunch of US states, namely Ohio, Georgia and Alabama, have this week passed a law banning abortion from six weeks of pregnancy onwards, with states like Mississipi and Missouri right on their heels. That's when most women who wouldn't want a child will know they're pregnant. It gives them zero chance to make their own choice, because the ban states that a doctor performing the procedure or the woman having it could face up to 99 years in prison. You'd say okay, that's fair, if you're liberal but pro-life, but if you have any feelings or have any idea the full extent to which this is happening, it's damn well not. Protesters in DC First of all, the law was passed with 25 votes, and every single yes vote was made by an old, white man. I'm shocked and appalled at this...

Curly Hair, Been There: Disneyland Paris Summer of Superheroes

If you didn't already know, I live in Paris and I love all things Disney. So, naturally, I have an annual pass and go up there as much as I can. This summer, it's all things Marvel! I went yesterday to check out #StudioHero and review all of the super festivities (get it??) Disneyland Paris: Summer of Superheroes All of the superhero stuff is in the Studios Park, rather than the main park, but it's still really cool. You walk in and the first thing you see, before walking through the studio, is this massive Captain Marvel Statue:  And that's just the start. In the production courtyard, there are three more huge statues, of: The Hulk Black Panther And Iron Man. It's pretty cool to see all of this, and exciting to see your favourite heroes but bigger and better.  The decor isn't the end of the fun though! There's the opportunity to meet three big heroes: Captain Marvel, Captain America, and Spiderman. I met Captains Marve...

Avengers: Endgame

Right so I've seen Endgame twice now and I have a lot of thoughts. Since I'm not a monster, I am going to respect the two week no spoiler rule. Since it came out last week, I'll be waiting until the end of next week to post anything with spoilers in it. Aren't I nice? So this is just going to be a totally neutral, spoiler-free review, and over the next few weeks I'll break down different bits of the film and my thoughts about them, since there is a LOT of ground to cover. Endgame: Spoiler-free Review The packed poster I mean, first off, if you haven't yet seen the biggest movie in the world, you either care about nothing or you're not committed enough to the most ambitious and impressive saga in cinema history. Both are terrible, but worry not, because as much as I'm judging you, you won't get any spoilers here. Although, if you are either of those two types of people, you're probably not reading this. Anyway. This movie is just...

Curly Hair, Been There: Paris Charles de Gaulle

So, if you didn't guess from the title, I'm bored in the airport.  I have to say it's not a bad airport, it's massive and very bright and comfortable. There's lots to see and do, there's your standard airport chocolates and duty free, but there's also a screen across from me to play PS4 so the kids running around aren't annoying me too much. I've exhausted things to do, I've been over schoolwork, listened to hours of music, looked in the shop, and now I'm bored and slightly uncomfortable from having sat in the same chair for the last two hours. My gate should be open in about twenty minutes, but they're still boarding the previous flight and my plane is delayed, so i reckon I'll be sat here a bit longer. I have to say, I've never been more thankful for my headphones than right now. The fact that they're noise cancelling is usually lost on me when I'm home and it's quiet around me anyway, but here, it's makin...

Screen to Screen: Dumbo

Right this is probably a bit stupid but since it is technically an adaptation, this review is called Screen to Screen as it is a review of a new version of an old movie. Judge me all you want but it does make sense. Dumbo  I saw Dumbo today and it's possibly the cutest film ever, definitely the cutest I've seen this year. That little baby elephant is so precious and perfect and I love him so much! If you don't already know the story of Dumbo, you gotta educate yourself. That movie came out like 80 years ago, and it's only 62 minutes long. If you've never seen it, I'm judging you. Either way, I'm going to describle the plot because this is slightly different from the original. It, of course, follows a circus, namely that of the Medici Brothers, and its cast. The Circus cast It is run by Maximillian Medici, played by Danny Devito, and he has a great band of performers, including Holt Farrier (Colin Farrell), who has just returned from war with only...

Curly Hair, Been There: The Louvre

Curly Hair, Been There is a segment that explore the different places in the world I have been, and my experiences there.  Paris: The Louvre    So I went to the Louvre last week and I have some thoughts.  It was a nice day and outside, with the famous pyramids and the impressive building, it was a really nice welcome to the landmark. I mean, the whole thing of the Louvre is that it's all nice to look at and it definitely was. I mean, the armed police and street sellers trying to flog their tickets were not so enjoyable, but the rest of it was a lovely introduction to the spectacle.  It's very impressive inside as well, the entrance is like a cave and then there are different passages going to different places and it's really cool.  I will say that it's a little confusing. I had a map, but if you think I can find my way around with or without guidance you are sorely mistaken. I got lost pretty much instantly. I was wandering around statue...
